Learn to play Craps. It's one of the very few games where the odds are not horribly slanted in the House's favor. My last trip to Vegas, I made back 3 days worth of Blackjack losses plus $1500 in a few hours at the Crap table.

rpm, I won $3000 in about 30 min. in a thing called Reno Days down on the coast here. I am a very well-informed BJ player, and know they odds. Thanks for the advice on Craps, that game I do not know very well.

No, it doesn't.

Yep craps is the way to go.  It's also great if you have a short attention span or are drunk.  You only have to roll every 10 minutes or so, and the plays with the best odds are among the simplest.  Just keep an eye on your chips.

Creamo is right,  seriously look around the strip.  They did not pay for all that stuff by people WINNING all the time.  Yes you will see people hitting jackpots all around you.  Heck, my wife just hit a royal last week, but overall we are down.   But it's fun to play a little every once and a while.  She hit it with only 10 dollars in.  Our budget for gambling is that we don't gamble what we can't afford to throw out the window of our car.

Forget all of those odds on gaming.  They are based on PROFESSIONAL gamblers who know all the rules and who are completely sober.  Why do you think drinks are free to people who are gambling?  If you don't REALLY know the game and are drinking, throw all those odds out the window.

Good advice. Between you and Creamo, I just may limit ourselves to $50 each on Roulette or Craps.

Learn a basic 10 card counting system for BJ, it's very simple (unlike core card systems), and will give you an advantage over the house, allowing you to modify the "standard" rules most exprienced non-counters play by.  There are several excellent books out on the subject, and you don't need to be a photo-reader to pick it up.

Armed with this, you can have some success, without it, play standard rules BJ, enjoy losing your 5-10%, and go forth with Creamo's advice and gamble very little, if at all.

Before any of you discount card counting as something "impossible" since you saw Rain Man, I'll inform you that the local casino here at the Calgary Stampede was 750,000$ in the hole the 2nd day it was open after all the pro gamblers decended on the Blackjack tournament.  Day 3 they shut down most of the tables and brought in some pro dealers.  The fun was over on day 4.  Point being, most dealers in Vegas are very, very good and if you see them manually shuffling, odds are they are building the deck to kick your ass.  Again, stick to the low limit tables like others advised and have some fun.

A dealer is a dealer.  The cards fall how they will.  There is no way a casino is going to risk being on the front page of all the newspapers for being caught cheating.
