Bombless HQ Run
« on: January 29, 2004, 03:18:47 AM »
Some people didn't believe we flew all the way to Rook HQ without bombs. Hah, lousy excuse for bad bombing! But no... we really did fly all that way just to shoot 163s! Here you go FlxDaCat, here's the film. We roll about 5-6 min into it.

I did that in a Ki-67 a long time ago.  I just wanted to kill an Me163B.

Did too.

Well, if this is what the game has come to, B17's at 40k bombless over enmy HQ to kill 163's, why even perk the 163? It would make it alot more fun and you wouldn't penalize one dweeb(163) while not penalizing the dweebs in the 40k B17's.

If you are not gonna perk buff formations, why not leave the 163 not perked? It is only available at one field, and a jabo on fuel renders them useless. Killing a B17 at 40k is not easy, so,  eventually, 163's won't go over 30k to attack the 17's because they are catching on to this bombless thing. But if they are not perked, then they have nothing to lose and will attack.

So if this is the kind of action that is fun and good for the game, then an non perk 163 will make for alot of fun and make the game better.

i have to agree with six...

we all know how much it sucks to fly without raday for your country. 163's are there for a reason. to defend HQ.

taking up a 163 to defend HQ is a risk some take to help keep "gameplay" favorable for ones countrymates.

on second thought im not going to argue trhe point. somone will just jump in and call me a "whiner" then somone else will flame that person.

then it will begome a "lazsesque" argument about strat vs. dogfighting.

that will make it just like any other generic flame-fest post with 3 pages of insulting posts.

why bother?
I don't know what to put here yet.

The real trouble is HQ controlling all radar for a whole country, allowing one person to impact a hundred.   Maybe it was easier to program it that way, but it would be much more sensible and realistic for each airfield to control it's own radar (dot and bar).

Hmm.  40k seems silly.

I did it at 22k.

Yeah, that seems reasonable.  Take a set of bombers in at 20k, the whole while the entire country has AMPLE time to figure out that you're headed to their HQ, and be faced with 20 free ME-163s after your 30-60 minute trip.  Leave 'em perked.

I encountered a P47 at 25k that seemed to be headed into Bish HQ yesterday - I was in a 262.  He died.  :)

thats what i do alot too, Ki67s are great for it and you get LOADS of perks which you can then waste on Ar234s.

what i do is bomb a target near the HQ then, carry on to it, normaly 25-30k by then (easy to climb without bombs)

I always loved HUGE MASSIVE bomber raids. I wish the game had more of that in it. Unfortunetly its tough to get people to join missions. Last mission I ever ran was as Bish long ago, that seems like ages ago...:) Main thing is yur having fun and having laughs... In here (Aces High) thats all that counts really.

If you really want to pi$$ off the nme,fly a low p40b NOE to their radar..taunt them on ch1 when it starts flashin"Say bye bye dar Knights!"...Then land and watch the sector bar dar grow red as they climb frantically in their 163's...Then after you've recovered from laughing so hard, take off and see how many you can get to auger as they come screamin down like a pack of pihranas on a dead cow(even 1 gives you ch1 taunting privileges)

Great way to divert the nme #'s from the base the rest of your squad is about to attack.
