Used to smoke a pipe while I was new in the Army and Armor. Later I gave it up. I got to watch an Uncle die of emphysema. It wasn't pleasant watching someone you care about die of slow asphyxiation. Haven't smoked since (1979). I really did like the way the pipe tobacco smelled too darnit. One of the strongest memories I have of my Dad was him smoking Sir Walter Raleigh (sp) but he died of complications from his TB when I was 7.

Ya wanna smoke, fine. Please consider the implications on your family though, and smoke away from me!

The only thing I dislike more than a discourteous smoker is an ex-smoker or someone who never smoked barrage me with his sanctimonious self rightousness.

Smoking is important on measuring how good a fight you are having.

You measure the level of a fight by the length of the hanging ash.  The longer the ash the better the fight.

Hey Wardog, I'm glad you came out ok. I quit ciggs the same way, but I stayed off. I crashed a motorcycle into a palm tree and broke my back. When I felt good enough to smoke, the nurses put an end to it immediately. I was flat on my back and couldn't get out of bed, so I quit smoking.

But I had a buddy bring me a can of Copenhagen, which I wound up using for years, a far worse addiction than smoking.

I kept snuff in my mouth all the time. I never spit. I kept the can in my sock, and used it all day long, every day and night, and nobody could tell.

That constant nicotine drip really kept me loaded with nicotine. I was so hooked. I noticed tissue changes in my lip, and knew I had to give it up. When I quit, I felt really, really shakey and had to take a day off of work. I did it though. I consider myself lucky ... so far.

Hang, Dingy

Ive been dead, its highly overrated!!

The things some people do for fun takes a toll on ones body after 42 years. Ive enjoyed my life more than anyone has a right to, and therefore i am prepared to exit anytime no regrets. I did a lot of damage to myself Diving, Cliff diving, Quary diving Bridge diving and Wall diving ( ya wouldnt beleive me if i told ya )..

Chutes are for people who want a ride, freefall is for people who want to fly!

Now ya know why i love to fly..

Dog out........

Hmmmm, IS this a novel approach to start the first Non-Smoking Section on an Internet BBS?

It makes sense after all... Everyone elses smoke really bothers me in here too!

Cough..Cough.. Please would you guys be more courteous! I come in here to type and read about Aces High Issues.. but I shouldn't have to breath your smoke through the internet!

I agree with you MarkAT
