I gave Ackinawa a try, but it gets a thumbs down from me.

Whats up next week?

Me-163 Komets vs. Goons in an effort to make the planeset simpler by cutting it back to two planes. No specific countries represented. Ocean terrain. 2 CVs. Goons enabled on one of them.

Just kiddin'. ;)

Its not anything wrong with the planeset Arlo, which is why I did not "grade" it, more a comment on my sense of utter uselessness in a 163 or 262. I just cant hit anything with them yet. I can fly around all night blowing through furballs at mach 0.9, but try to hit something? Not a chance for me.

I also tried the Niki, and tony, and while good, they are no match for an F4U4 or a Tempest. There were a few F6F's and P38's to pick on, but they were few and far between.

On the other side, the F4U4, Temp and Spit14 are awsome, but unlike those Allied guys I was shooting at, when I fly allied I have to fight an actual SKILLED[/b] 262 or 163 pilot, not my "262 lawndart" self.

So, basically, my frustration level is too high for me and I will sit the rest of this week out. As I said in another thread, its my skillset, not the planeset that is the problem.

Sorry ... was just kidding. No other intent involved. Sorry the setup's not fun for you. I actually understand more than you realize. My F4U skills were never top notch and have rusted away a fair degree since last the F4U CT set ran. I'm not landing alot of kills in this one. What few I do are real sweet though. Some are on the other side having a blast splashing things left and right in Buck Roger's ride. Not really my cup o tea, either. But I gave it a try the moment the map switched and the novelty was kinda cool and I'm actually glad to see that there are a few CTers up to the task.

I'm not sure what's slated for next week but I hope you like it. I'll look for you then, bro.

Heh, I love F4U-4 instead the rest of F4U old models and I was so good to fly that beautiful bird.  :aok

I wasn't upset with you Arlo, or the planeset. I posted that immedeately after leaving the CT in disgust (again, in my performance not the setup). I knew you were kidding, I guess I should have added some smilies. :D

I wanted to really give it my best shot instead of declaring it DOA before it even went up like some did. I came into this setup with an open mind and I found out that I just cant fly a jet properly, but I never even flew one test hop offline before I upped in the CT so in reality I shouldnt have expected to do better than I did.

Heck, I had trouble even landing the doggone thing without crashing, so I'll probably practice for a few hours offline and give it another try. I'm nothing if not hard headed. :aok

NP, Grits, buddy. You have a pretty good attitude about things in general. This set is a kicker. I suspected it wasn't gonna be easy. I've been gettin' my butt kicked in the Hog, Temp, Spit and Tbolt ... and having a blast. Of course, I haven't even been trying to fly conservatively. I'm not all that sure it would make a diff. :D

Grits come back on squad night tuesday and thursday. It may be more fun then. Hopefully not as much furballing. I think it will be a change to see a flight of 163 and 262s comming after our bombers.

Part of it is I got a bit spoiled buy the Tiffie last week. For some reason, I dont know why, I just had trouble doing anything wrong in that plane, now this week its the opposite. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

I will try it some more, like I said, Im nothing if not hard headed. :aok
