On boot up I am told that my FX5600 has 256M

Direct x tells me I have 128M

AH1 tells me its working from 260M +

AH2 tells me its working from 130M +

Bios is set to allocate another 128M

The box the card came in said it had 256M


Q: Am I getting everything this card has to offer (RAM wise)

From what you have said, the card definately does not have 256MB of ram.

The above was with 41.09 drivers

So now I download and install 53.04

Now

On boot up I am told that my FX5600 has 256M

NVidia set up says I have 256M (it always did)

Direct x tells me I have 256M

AH1 tells me its working from 389M

AH2 tells me its working from 264.2M

Bios is set to allocate another 128M

The box the card came in said it had 256M


So do you think I was actually using less before or was it just a signage thing
