Succesfull mission for you country
« on: February 04, 2004, 03:37:45 AM »
Few nights ago i upped Dora to join furball, which was taking place between our and enemy fields. Got some 10k alt and run right through the horde making t&b's. Deep in enemy territory i spotted friendly p51 fighting five enemy planes, mostly t&b planes. All were low and slow so i decided to go to help my country mate. He was in pretty bad situation so i came in spraying and praying and shot down one hostile plane. They ALL break off to me and forgot p51 which in turn was able to get some alt. Ok. Now those 5 hunting me and my rescue mission was about to turn to a bailing mission. Fortunetly p51 came back and repeated what i just had done and saved my butt. This continued for few times and more enemies joined to battle. When p51 was shot down i decided to leave all those spitties and nikies and headed for home.

Battle had however brought me right behind the enemy base which was a great spawn point for dozens of bogies. Fulishness or something made me do a low pass close to field so everyone was able to spot me. Luckily at this point i was going well faster than 400mph and nobody was able to catch me. Headed for friendly base in opposite direction to that from witch i upped. 8 bogies started following me and they didnt break until i was halfway home and many friendlies were up and high. Result by scoring system 2 kills and 1 assist.

Result for country: My sortie kept 5 to 8 enemy pilots busy for 20mins and they were away from somewhere else.

It appears to be very common that once one enemy cames into icon range most pilots forget everything else and start hunting it despite the map shows horde of dots approaching propably at high altitudes. Instead people should see "Ah already 3 friendlies chacing that poor low spit, they will nail him, i'll grab some more alt and intercept other enemies."

I'm really tired to see one enemy over our field to be hunted by 20 our own planes.

LMAO Absolutely positivily true. And all countries do it.
I love it when I do it to other countries and get rfrustrated as hell when I see guys in my country do it.
Lone bogie comes in and 10 of our guys are up and near the feild and instead of 1 or 2 planes going after him,EVERYONE develops tunnelvision  and chases him  always low completely ignoring the inbound hode 1/2 sector away about to pummel the base. so what happens? They finally either get the guy or give up on him just in time to be caught low by the incomming horde.
I kinda did this intentionally a few weeks ago in Minendoodoo just to see what would happen.
I kept upping in a PT boat near an enemy base and everyone became so preoccupied on getting kills on my one lone PT that nobody paid any attention (or they just didnt care) to the 15-20 knights inbound. Hell even after knights started hitting them 3 or 4 paid more attention to me then the planes that were now vulching them.

brain dead, everyones brain dead I tell ya! LMAO

End result. Quick base capture for the knights :)

Death is no easy answer
