I was just curious....

Anytime we get new toys, we enjoy checkin them out. How many of you intend to just drive boats or fly aircraft, or will you mix it up as the mood suits you?

WW2Online seemed to have an element of Popeyes who wouldn't be caught dead in anything that flies...just wondered if we had any folks here of the same ilk.

Last nite I did a little of both,
Flew F6F in fighter mode
Flew F4C in Attack mode
Flew TBM for flak suppresion
Flew C 47 for field capture
Drove PT boat in attack and defense
Manned 8",5", and 40mm on ships
and drove a tank to the waters edge to engage ships and PTs

Got to say the F6F is a sweet ride but the detail on the TBM both in and out is just outstanding.

No lockups last nite either, only 1 screen freeze near a carrier battle and the FR seemed much better with the patch.

"...mix it up as the mood suits..."  Is my choice. I enjoy flying first and foremost. But some times I feel like I can't tell which end of the plane to shoot from and I'm plain old cannon fodder. Then I like to take a break and drive something - now I can "sail" something   The last couple of days I've been having a ball manning the 5" mounts on the fleets to shoot down incoming raids. And then when enemy planes or PT boats get sparse I take to the air again.

I'm a fighter pilot. From the top of my leather helmet. To the soles of my bunny slippers. I don't do boats, tanks, or bombers.

I already have a flight sim.  I'm here for the PT boat only.

Personaly I like the diversity. I like flying most but I really like the ability to do something different on occasion.

I think that carrier landings and takeoffs are awsome (just need to get better at the landings   ) All I need to do now is figure out a way to get a tailhook mounted on my 47  .

AH is still a flight sim to me.  WB was a flight sim, and WWIIOL will be a flight sim as well.

Nothing against guys who like the boats or vehicles, I've just always been more interested in flying.  If I wanted to drive tanks, I'd be in the Army driving a tank instead of flying in the Air Force.

The good thing about the GV's and boats - they drive up the arena numbers.  More people is more fun IMHO, and it's really cool to see the server maxing out.  Although I haven't had a chance to try 1.05 out yet, this is the first time I've ever seen the AH arena maxed with people bangin at the door.  WTG HTC!

Suggestion - Now that we have a new arena that is primarily water, how about making an arena that is similiar, but primarily land?  Maybe a historic layout?

That way we'd have an arena for those who like flying and boating, and an arena for those who like driving GV's and getting shot down by Ostwinds.    A theoretical land arena ought to have harbors, and some big land areas that are too far inland to be seriously impacted by naval action.  Lots of flat land to drive tanks through, with the occasional big valley or ridge to help focus GV traffic to places where grand battles can occur.
