after some sniping at the drones, I noticed that scoring hits seems much harder, then in AHI. which is good.
It's very hard to get hits at over 400 yards even with the 0.5 guns. Since I'm a crapy shot, this might not mean much more then just a feeling I get.
what I find different is:
- No red box - i noticed that in AHI, I frequently was aiming to the middle of the box. I could get kills even without looking at the model in it (like at night).
- No laser range finder - the big 200 yards jumps in the range indicator only gives rough info on the range, not the closure rate. This makes estimating deflection harder.
- Less ping flashes?? - I often feel as if not all registered hits show hit sprites, so I might be hitting and not always knowing about it. (actually I like this, makes long shots harder since you can't "feel" your way with the hit spirites).
- Better bullet tracing and impact calculation? - I'm completly unsure of that. I feel like a lots of the shots that used to hit in AHI just "barly miss" the target drone. Is this a better hit detection or actually a bugged hit detection? or is it related to the previous statment about hit flashes and I'm actually hitting?
- Gun dispersion? - need to test with ".target".
- ID tag below the model - Great!! over the nose shots are harder, like in the missing box effect, I have to aim at the model now and not the icon.
to sum up:
I like the gunnery in AHII. usually, good hit probability I get only when the range indicator drops to 200, which means less then 300 yards, which is much more realistic then the 600 yard deflection shots I could pull on the drones in AHI.
does anyone else noticed the different gunnery or is it just me?
