Just a loose suggestion.
Normally, I used to frown upon people who brought up with the search&rescue ideas. I thought it wasn't very practical.

Well, with the new "Dude" and the new terrain, I suddenly realized that it could be realllly fun. I was shot down by an enemy fighter in AH2 beta and bailed. I landed somewhere between my home field and the enemy field.
The terrain surrounding me was beautiful. It wasn't as detailed as FPS games, but really, how many FPS games have a terrain that has vegetation for hundreds of square miles??
I ran around, exploring the terrain where I was shot down. There were abandoned homes and barnhouses scattered around. The enemy fighter saw me bail out, and he came back for me. I ran into a barn, hiding there so he couldn't find me.
Then I saw a friendly fighter come nearby and engage him.
It was really cool experience. Seeing the friendly win the fight and flying close to me. I dearly wished that my bailed pilot had a flare gun. I'd shoot it up towards the sky marking my location.. if only there was some way I could be rescued!

AH2 beta terrain is way too good looking to be just used for limited GV vs GV encounters, or just eye-candy material for those flying in the sky.
If AH2 is officially released and things are in motion, I'd really love to see a search/rescue aspect included in the game. (Maybe as much, a "hunt and capture" aspect could be put into the game too.. )
