Mouseview and freelook
« on: February 16, 2004, 04:40:18 PM »
I have been trying to get a utility called freelook (it's freeware) to move the views. It's a similar idea to TrackIR and basically it controls the mouse cursor. It is used a lot in IL2 Forgotten Battles which has mouseview (where I also cannot get it to work ). I know of at least two people who have got it working in AH2 but they have Win XP and I have 98.

I get it to work ok in desktop, webpages, etc but not in AH2 although of course the mouse itself moves the views ok.

Has anyone else out there got it running in AH2 under Win98?

Would like to hear from you.

And by the way....

Will TrackIR be finally implemented in AH2?
Forums at TrackIR site say that it won't.

It would be really a shame if it won't be implemented any form of tracking...   HTC got the message?

Well having started the thread I got a reply from the freelook guy himself:

" I should've said this earlier - Freelook doesn't officially support Win98, as DirectX won't accept virtual mouse events on 95/98/Me

There is a small workaround for IL2 on 98, however - open conf.ini (in the il2 directory somewhere), and change mouseUse (or usemouse) to 0 or 1 (whichever it's not currently using). "

So now my question is, is there a similar setting to look for in AH2?
