The problem with most people is they do not understand that the Bible is NOT an accurate historical document. The Old Testament comes close but is still a hearsay account of events that may or may not have happened. Your King James Version, which is the most widely read VERSION of The Bible is a complete rewrite, not a translation.
Thomas Jefferson rocked, by the way!
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Deism, which emphasized morality and rejected the orthodox Christian view of the divinity of Christ, found advocates among upper-class Americans.

Conspicuous among them were Thomas Jefferson and John Adams.

Deists, never more than "a minority within a minority," were submerged by evangelicalism in the nineteenth century.

incidently the version of the bible without jesus as the son of God is called the Old Testament. The new testament is the gosspel of Christ....how could you "rewrite" your own version of the bible.
You might want to clarify that with your teacher.

A philosopher. He is not deistised( is that a word?) in any of early christian art work. When the romans picked up the religion they did what they always do with religion. Mixed it up with other popular ones of the time. The jesus we get is one that is a mix of mithra osiris and apollo.

I'm not trying to flame you, or be mean in any way. Just trying to light the fire of free thinking and skepticism in ya! Chek out some of these links for a lot of good information on the framers, and lots of good original writing sources from the framers of the constitution.

Sir, it requires far too much energy for me to be skeptical :)

Thanks for the links, I am checking them out now.
