I dont have one but here is what I do. Please post other info. As a matter of fact, HTC, will you post us an AH P-51D check list and normal operations manual?
Here is one I made. I have not read a manual, came up with this on my own.
Before Take-Off
* Flaps - As needed
* Tailwheel - Locked (if we had it..or..use default auto takeoff)
* Props - Full Increase (numlocks (+) key)
Take-Off
* Throttle - Advance slowly to full open
-------------- MP 61 inches
-------------- RPM 3,000
* 75 mph - Slight foward preassure on stick to get tail up (if auto -takeoff is disenguaged)
* 125 mph - Rotate
* Landing Gear - Up
* Power - Close to 46 inches MP
* Props - 2,700 rpm (the (-) key on numpad)
Climb Check
* Speed - 150mph
* Flaps - As needed
Traffic Pattern (1,500 agl)
* At 800' (agl) - turn cross wind leg
* At 1,200' (agl) - turn down wind leg
* At 1,500' (agl) - Level off and maintain 150 - 175 mph
* Power - 30 inches
* Flaps - As needed
* Landing Gear - Down
* Props - Full increase (numlocks (+) key)
(note airspeed and sounds, above 126pmh rpm stays at 3,000)
Final Approach
* Airspeed - 140 mph
* Props - Full increase
* Power - 20 inches
* Flaps - Full down
"Over the Fence"
* Begin to flare. (use caution on rate of decent)
* Speed will slow to 125 mph (note change in sound)
* RPM will reduce itself to 2,700
* As wheels (wheel landing) touch down, apply slight foward pressure on stick to "plant" gear on ground
* As speed slows and tail lowers to ground, apply FULL AFT STICK
* Brakes - Apply as needed
(note engine sound as speed slows below 100mph as well as rpm drop)
In flight MP adjustments should affect slight prop pitch sounds that are not yet modeled (i think). Any time you adjust power settings, you are changing combustion (explosion) inside the compresion chamber causing a change in sound RPMs. The more abruptly you change settings, the more change in sounds you should hear due to the lag in the prop governor.
Please feel free to add to this or just post comments. HTCs engine sounds will begin to make sense to you if you are already familur with constant speed prop sounds.
