SEA radar question...
« on: October 01, 2000, 07:59:00 PM »
How is the radar going to be set up? Reason i ask is, i dont want to join a flight on one coast and get intercepted half way there. What was the true radius of the radar? Cant they/we be warned when theyre/we're just off the coast? Refering to  Med Ter.. Just cant picture it over the radio "Mass attack coming in from blah blah blah" just to have guys fly across the coast to kill um.

Just wondering

The exact radar mode is still being worked on at this time, however I can tell you that we will do our best to make it as historical (but playable) as possible for the Scenario.

I don't want to talk in the name of the SEA Staff as I have no idea what they have in mind.

But I'm whilling to do the GCI work like I did for the last TOD. People flying make sure they don't use the radar, me alone can sees it, enemis report their positions to me, I vector the interceptors.

As far the lack of range above the sea, we can still 'set a rule' where GCI will disregard any contact with a distance of more than xx NM from the coast.

just my 2 cents.

There's 15 radar modes .. that give you all kind of possibilities to set .. like dots only, only markers, everything seen at all ranges for every country etc ..

I can assure you that the events crew will try to give you the most historical accurate Radar setting as possible (or no radar for that matter...) for the given event.

Sometimes there must be compromisies for playability and ballancing reasons please keep that in mind ...
