Was an interesting show, It goes to show just how resiliant the human body is. It also showed how close Von Stouffenberg came to possibly ending the war 10 months earlier.
For those who didnt see it, They recreated the Plot to kill Hitler by using 3D animation and ultimatley blowing some stuff up. Their first test was using the same variables as the incident itself and suprisingly they achieved almost identical results as the incident itself. Concluding from thier test was the loss of hearing in his right ear, Shrapnel Wounds on his legs and arm. They concurred the blast was survivable.
In thier other tests they kept it in the place where Von Stouffenberg had originally placed it before he moved it behind a table leg. His clothing was completley blown off and he suffered major shrapnel wounds across his entire body. They deemed the blast unsurvivable.
The second test was done with 2 pounds of explosive, it was stated that in a rush, Von Stouffenberg only placed 1 pound of explosives in his briefcase, If he had more time he could have placed two.In this test they placed it behind the table leg like the original test. The test showed that the walls would have been blown out, Hitler would have lost both arms in the blast and probably been killed instantly.
