Lots of eye candy, but it doesn't seem any more fun to play than the original UT with the UT4E patches.

The one thing that stands out is the new football/basketball game (15 hours later and I can't remember the name).

Reminds me of Diablo II... A lot like the first one, just prettier.

That was the whole point of UT2004.  It was to bring back the game play from the original UT that was missing from UT2003.  Playing UT2003 was like playing Tribes 2.  Sure it was prettier than the original but it was lacking the same thing that made the original fun to play.  UT2004 brings back that element that made UT so fun to play.

Does the Red Orchestra mod work with the Beta?

I heard that there is some problems with mods made for UT2003 working with UT2004 but I'm hoping the modders will get some help from the UT devs to work out the kinks.

BTW- How has RO been shaping up?  I played the beta when it first came out and stuck with it for a few updates but it was so clunky and not very polished that I went back to DoD.  RO improved any since the beta release?

RO has come along nicely.  I just read that the next update, v2.0, has been delayed til UT2004 comes out.  That kinda sucks... gameplay is fun, but their numbers have been rather low.

Think I'll go ahead and wait for the next update for UT2004.  Don't want to bother with having to reinstall UT2003 just to play RO.
