It's not the map but the colour.                                                    Just ad some green into it,and it will be fine with me.

When Pizza map was made Hitech had a strict policy to adhere to. Bases HAD to be x amount of tiles away from another base. I think on Fester's map ( and I may be wrong ) the bases are closer together. I think Hitech eased up on some restrictions for submitted maps. Remember Pizza is one of the first Larger maps. I am an AK, but had nothing to do with making of the map ( it was made prior to me joining the squad). There are some who enjoy it and some that don't, But the bases are the SAME distance apart from every other map from Hitechcreations. I had many maps i was working on for the MA, but stopped after all the chastizing the AK's got from building this map. I sure it halted many others from building and submitting some also. I have made and helped with many CT maps, some good, some buggy. The Terrain editor went threw many many upgrades and changes. Maps made with the earlier versions of the TE are more buggy then maps made with later versions.

Laz this post is not directed at you personally, but this thread in general.

I like the pizza map.

the longer distances make fights at altitudes above 10k the norm.

its nice to have a variety.

pizza is aslo good because it has a moving front. you are not often fighting on the same base all week on pizza. I can say ive fought in every zone on that map.

other maps including my festerma have a stalemate with stagnant fronts. though likely designed to have stalemate fronts the result is the other 100 bases on the map dont get used much.
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

The pizza map is ok but the 12k deep canyons are silly.
The alts are way off IMHO.

nuttz..  If all the complaining stopped people from making more maps like the pizza then... It was a good thing.   Infinity was like pizza but it got redone latter on and was improved a little.

Asside from fester... it seems the only people who have enough patience to make maps are the ones who aren't any fun to fly with anyway... the timid sky accountants and high alt foxhole boys whos idea of "realism" is to cherry pick in late war rides and whos idea of strat is to pork fuel so that the fights are 4 sectors apart.   Who see a CV furball as an evil waste of time that could be used helping the "missunz" and gangbangs so that they could cherry pick easier.

Now, the pizza could be fixed.   For one thing... Imagind if there were bases, close bases, close airbases... in those canyons..  great place for early war furballs.   Ack on the rims.... cherry pickers would face ack climbing out..
