The Destroyer USS Stewart had something happen to her that no other US Destroyer in the fleet did. What was it?

GOOD LUCK!  :aok

Captured while in drydock, badly mangled. Japan repaired the ship and put her into service as a patrol boat.

Captured and used by the enemy as a Patrol Boat it is.

Damaged by an airaid, the USS Stewart was caught in drydock and was abandoned by the Allies when the Japanese took Soerabaja, Java in March 1942.
The ship was packed with demolition charges and left to go off but something happened and they didn't go off. The Japanese salvaged her and in her rebuilding changed her apperience thereby adding to their fleet a "Ghost Ship" who's identy baffeled American Observers throughout the war.
Salvaged after the war, she ended her career her career off the California coast as a target for Navy Hellcat Fighter Bombers.

Congrats!  :aok
