Why not having friendly collisions ?

Sure, switch them off when on the runway, to avoid spawn-deaths.

But once you are airborne, they should be on.

What do you think ?

It's probably a good idea - I don't think I've ever passed through someone when playing (99.9% of the time it wouldn;t effect me). It works really well in the SEA, when you start to get the massed bomber formations - good fun.

Keep killshooter on in MA, though.

Very interesting idea, I was thinking about it some days ago. HTC could try it for one TOD.
Can you imagine what will happen during massive take-offs or landig patterns?

cc - use altitude/gear down thing as a cut off point but in the air collissions should be enforced for both friends and foes.

Nice solution Lynx. The gear! When clear, raise the gear!

It's not doable for bombers.  It's a full time job flying a tight formation with collisions enabled.  So a single-player bomber would have a choice between manning his guns or risking a collision.  Not for my $30.

They serve the same purpose as the kill shooter

I think friendly collisions is a bad idea.  Real pilots had peripheral vision and radios, and they never saw net-lag induced warps.
