On time I was in a Spit 14 and managed to get it into a flat spin. I have never figured out how I managed to do that and also I couldnt recover from it. The stick was absolutely useless! There was no up and down rotation at all.

How do you get into and out of one of these?

well.....it's a little gamey, but you could just hit the X key.

If you have the altitude it will come out. Just don't pull back until you have built up a little airspeed.

Gamey, but it works.

cheers,

Hmm I didn't know about the X key.  I've even been in inverted flat spins... cool stuff that.

I don't know if there is an standard method but here is what I do:

Chop throttle, nose down, opposite rudder, full flaps.

When the plane stops spinning and noses down, don't get on the throttle too early or you will induce a spin.

Like I said, there may be some official way to get out of a spin, flat or otherwise, but this works for me on the worst of them, even flat spins.

Steve, you forgot airelons in a neutral position. Also I never use flaps and it's not what I was taught in a real plane. What I was taught in a Cesnna 150 works in AH.

Nice we don't have to worry about carb. heat.:)
