How the Knights saved my Me262
« on: March 18, 2004, 04:11:28 PM »
Last night the Knights were in a desperate situation.  We (Knights) were on Utero Lake, and were forced back to a handful of bases in the lower left corner.  Every field has 25% fuel, except for one (which had 50% fuel).

So to fight off the horrid hordes of Bishops and Rooks, I launched myself in an Me262.  An N1k2 jumped me on takeoff and closed to within d300 of me.  Friendly knights gave me several 6 calls and finally blew the bastige in two.

So I tore through the skies at 5000 feet, blowing unsupecting P51s, Spitfires, and Ju88s in half. Much fun.  All too soon though I was dangerously low on fuel and every base was crawling with bandits.

Every base I fly over is far too dangerous to land at.  I'm crying over the radio how I'm out of fuel and going to lose my plane.  Several knights calm me down, and give me a perfect vector into the only secured base, A1.  "You gotta come in from the South, its the only clear path."

So I'm 25 miles out, 530mph, 5000 feet, 1/8th tank of gas.  Then it turns into 1/16th tank of gas.  I'm desperately trying to land at A1.  Then those big Jumos let out a hissing nose that I know is bad news- flameout.

Finally, the airstrip comes into sight, airspeed is 220, altitude 1100 feet.  I pop the gear down, flaps down, pull into a hard right spiral and come over the fence dirtied up at 150mph.  Perfect landing- 5 kills landed.

SALUTE KNIGHTS.
