Thud,
- I don't know ya that well...but aren't you from the Netherlands?
- Is my president doing anything that has a direct effect on your life?
- We are the ones that have to live with his policy not you. I'm sure that way over there you only get tidbits of what is really going on...so how can you form an educated opinion?
- I really don't see anything that he has done to deserve being called a moron.
- Everyone messes up once in a while..
- but I think he has us on the right course.
In that order:
- Yes.
- Yes he is, whether one wants it or not, the US has always been a dominant factor in the world and has become even more so the last decades. If his actions do not influence me directly all the time, they invariably do regarding my country.
- I believe that if one invests some effort into it it is possible to be aware of the important events and issues across the Atlantic. Bear in mind that for the reason above, we usually pay more attention to US decisions, events, developments, actions and policies than you do to ours. On certain issues it is definately possible to form an educated opinion without actually residing in the US, at least that's what I think.
- I find many decisions he made unthoughtful, reckless, misguided and often downright stupid, ergo: moron. Obviously that's a matter of opinion but he certainly has some characteristics that almost radiate that impression.
- Yes, everyone does. However, in certain positions one is expected to do so less than in others because of the usually more drastic consequences. I believe this is especially true for the presidency.
- In that case you must be very happy that he still has a few months to continue on that course..

But seriously, I almost completely disagree, that is the essence of politics and sometimes of the O'Club as well...
