... guilty of one count of conspiracy, two counts of making false statements and one count of obstruction of agency proceedings.

Martha Stewart was convicted Friday of obstructing justice and lying to the government about a superbly timed stock sale, a devastating verdict that probably means prison for the woman who epitomizes meticulous homemaking and gracious living.

The jury of eight women and four men deliberated three days before convicting Stewart of all counts against her. The charges carry up to 20 years in prison, but Stewart will most certainly get much less than that under federal sentencing guidelines.

Her ex-stockbroker Peter Bacanovic, 41, was convicted on all but one count against him, making a false statement.

Did Leona Helmsley ever do time?  Seems to me she got popped for tax evasion but I don't recall if she paid the bill or did the time instead.

If Leona was in The Big House, maybe Martha can have her old bunk.

Hey Martha, can you show us a fun and unique way to mold soap to the rope?

If I remember she got sentenced to 4 years for tax evasion but only had to serve 2.

What's funny is that if Martha had not lied to the Feds, should most like would have gotten a slap on the wrist for insider trading.

I thought that just a few years ago we established that lying was okay....

Oh come on, what would make you determine that?!

Embattled doyenne of domesticity Martha Stewart was a major Democratic Party donor for most of the 1990s, giving the legal maximum to the campaigns of Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Al Gore, along with more than $100,000 in additional cash to related Democratic causes.

I don't really understand the verdict...

The securities fraud charge was dismissed. So they found her guilty of conspiracy, false statements and obstruction.

So... we have conspiracy to hide information regarding the crime that was dismissed, false statements about the crime that was dismissed, and obstructing the investigation of the crime that was dismissed.

Oh yeah... Mad Martha is public enemy #1.
