The Next Ice Age...
« on: March 05, 2004, 09:25:28 PM »
In 2003...The hottest Eurpean summer on record caused more than 20,000s deaths,

The largest number of US tornados in 1 month was recorded with an average of 16 per day for that month. Predictions are that record will be broken soon.

In the last 30 years, more than half of the deaths associated wtih hurricans and cyclones have been from inland flooding.

A heat wave in india killed more than 1400 people.

Switzerland expierenced its hottest june in 250 years, while in southern France, tempatures were 9-13 degrees warmer than the long term average.

England and Wales expierenced their hottest month since 1976.

Wow, some neat stuff, i saw previews at the movies for a movie called "Day After Tomorrow", lookd pretty cool so i checkd it out online.

Some of that stuff came from there and links from the movies website, from all the stuff ive been checkin out, the next Ice Age is a possability alot sooner then most people expect, i was definetly suprised.

On one site, it said Ice Ages can occur over a period of only 2-3 years, they form alot faster then i thought to! One could occur over the next few years or take generations, and last amin of 700 years to a max of over 100,000 years.

Apparently Global warming and an Ice Age even have the Pentagon checkin stuff out. Just some interesting stuff, looks like it could be a good movie.

The movie is based on Art Bell's book "The Coming Global Superstorm" (really)

I was just listening to him the other week discuss Bigfoot, Roswell, and shadow people....

Although we do contribute, there were significant climates changes before humans were present and there will be non-human causes for climate change in the future.  The natural cycle that exists is that every 100,000 years of an ice age is followed by 10-20,000 years of a warmer interglacial period.  Scientific data shows that we are at the end of a warm spell and appear to be heading for a cooling trend.
