Wow! hehe. I remember using Telnet to access our email as well as various articles through the University of Washingtons server, all text-based.  When the WWW came along it was happiness!

I remember connecting to compuserve with an Apple 2C on a 300 baud modem and watching text appear slower than I could type. BTW I type very slowly! :D
