As anyone who knows me, I'm a knight and usually respected and feared by Bishops and Rooks a like but this time I would like to tip my hat to the Bishops who today had the uncanning ability to get the Knights to commit 90% of its forces to fighting the Bishops (between A1 and A19) with the Knights accomplishing absolutely nothing other than to totaly screw over the remaining 10% of the Knights who were left trying to defend against the Rooks and losing the entire east and southern bases. If the Knights are complaining about numbers now, Keep pulling the same selfish and self centered bone headed stuff like you did to day and Knights will quickly either cancel their accounts or log off out of frustration or just plainly switch to Bishops or Rooks.  The Knights have shown time and time again that if they work together as a country, they can accomplish great things even when they are out numbered.  Whether you're a furballer or gamer, this is a team sport and there is no "I" in team

You can also find "meat" or "eat-m" or an "at me"

Frankly I don't see why anyone would want an "I" in team.  An "s" would work, because then you would have "steam."

Med, first off, let me say I'm not trying to pick a fight with ya.

I felt the same way at one time and got a lot of feedback on it.

I can feel your frustration though and here's some thoughts:

Even though we are divided into countries, in no way is this a "team" game. The only teams are squads.

The players flock to the most even battles. Everybody's in here to get kills. If I'm fighting bish on the east coast and it's pretty even in numbers, I'm staying up, getting kills, having fun. Now the rooks are making a hard advancement on the west coast, if I go there I'm probably going to face a a lot of them and there will only be a few of me. I'm gonna get my keester shot off. Why am I going there?  Can you really blame them for fighting the even battle? I can get shot down all night long and in the end what have I accomplished? If 120 knits are trying to fight against a combined force of 300 Bish and Rooks, probably not much at all.

If you really want more team action, take it to the squad leaders not the players. If some of the big squads agree to work together consistently then it *might* make a difference. A little squad organization would probably go a long, long way.

It's tough to defend against a gangbang. If 60 Knits are defending west against 130 Bish and 60 Knits are defending east against 170 Rooks, you're still gonna lose a whole lot of ground all over the place. Some might argue that strategically it's better to take a stand against one side or the other, stopping that side with the majority of your resources and hoping to hang on until a change in the dynamics of the game occurs, ie, a lot of people log on or off, one side or the other decides to switch targets, something.

Anyway, I know it sucks to be the lonely defender, maybe we'll take it all back tonight! :)

In the deep south it's pronounced "taim" anyway.

As in "Dang, my taim wun"

The "i" is present and works quite well. Also, then you would have "a-i-m" in it, which I could use more of.

>>Even though we are divided into countries, in no way is this a "team" game. The only teams are squads.<<

That about sums it up. The problem is the overall concept of winning war ignores this fact. Hence you have a scenario like tonight where there are 72 knights against 150+ Bish and 170+ rooks.

I think the maps should be reworked. Some people gripe that Fester's map is just a furball map. At least with his map, I can always log on to play and not spend my playing time whinnig on the message board. There has to be some compromise. It really isn't fun not being able to play and knowing its going to take the bish and rooks at least 2 more hours to reset the map. And what do they get? Nada. Just the satisfaction of keeping some players from playing the game. Went to three bases - all 25% all capped. So much fun. So don't tell me this ia a whine - I KNOW IT IS. I haven't played in the MA for a couple of days and was looking forward to it. Oh well - no joy.

Here's a fancy algorithm for you - if any teams number of bases get below 10% of the sum of the two other teams, map resets. It would minimize the junk like tonight where one team is pretty much shut out of the game.

Now I'm heading to the bar :)

theres a problem with the scoring really....

it goes like this.

1 rooks nearly win reset
2 bish notice (well they dont always) and start talking all undefeded rook bases to gain a lead
3 bish then move to "finish" off knights to win the reset since they are now "leading"
4 rooks move in, and retake all them fields
goto step 1

this is why resets are normaly so slow...

maybe both sides should "win" the reset?
