Do I get any choice in the matter of which skins I have for various planes? IOW, will there ever come a day when there are more than 15 skins available for, say, the 109G10? And then will I be able to pick the ones I want, so that if somebody's got a skin I don't like, I see the plane in the default skin? Or will HTC just approve 15 skins per plane and that's that?

If the latter, will there be a rotation of skins over time? I mean, some of those now available ain't that great and I'm sure better ones will come along as people get more practice.

Also, I see these .res files are kinda big, which sap my limited dial-up bandwidth. What determines when I download them? I'd rather not have this going on while I'm in a fight. I'd rather just download them up front, like I do new maps, before I get into the arena. And best case would be to make skin download and option that I could decline if I was in a hurry to get to the arena. Then if somebody's flying a skin I don't have, I'd just see him as the default skin.

I asked if ht with include a button to turn off "skin download" but recieved no reply. Like you I don't really care to download skins I will never use. If the res files for the planes were available for download from the webpage we could select the ones we want.

Remember, Pyro said your in game skins would be seen by the other players so I don't see how there will be any choice but for an automatic download. As soon as you encounter another player using one of the skins it will be needed on you FE.

Why can't they show up as the default skin? I see no need to download skins I don't like, or don't want if the system can just be set up to default to the default skin.

This is just the beta and when the game gets straightened around HTC will have reworked the art anyway. The only ones they are approving are historically accurate renditions. It appears to me that HTC might be doing a lot of very intellegent stuff here without announcing it. The guys that are experimenting with skins may be providing valuable information to HiTech Creations by good management design on the part of HiTech. It may give them ideas from a larger pool of creative minds. It may let them see what works and what doesn't in the game so they don't waist time when they get to it. It may give them feedback on the skins players like and dislike and what ramifications they have from thier end. Also, the game has many demensions and mapping, skins, scenerio design etc. gives players an additional way to have fun. It is a great way to get destracted and enjoy the beta without everyone coming up every day and saying..... WHEN IS ACES HIGH II COMING OUT ALSO .. Huh Huh
