We need an Anti Tank GV capable of spawning from CV's.  How about a Duplex Drive Sherman tank?

Or load the lvta-4 with ap rounds? :)

Maybe some landing craft which can carry every tank (except the really heavy ones) to shore would be cool.

How many of those things made it to shore on D-Day?  1 out of 12?

We need some LST's, like these babies.  Big targets with little to no defensive fire, so air cover or escorting PT's are needed.  They'd be easy prey for shore batteries too, so you'd need to take them out as well.

Well I've never seen anything close to d-day in AH, but 1 out of 12 sounds resonable :)

The LST's did have some anti-aircraft guns, though I can't remember if they were twin 50's or small calibre cannon.  Be great if we could man those puppies.

the tanks would of made it if they hadnt gone against the current and got swamped.trying to follow orders and land at the same spot the tanks  didnt make it
if they had gone with the current and landed down the shore all 12 would have made it.unfortantly the inexpericed crews paid with there lifes.

There was an amphibious tractor, the LVTA1,  that had the 37mm instead of the 75mm howitzer of the LVTA4 we have. That should be very easy to do since all you would have to do is add the M8 turret to the LVTA4 hull.

And we don't have a current in our seas, so they should work great.

The grunts riding those things to shore called the LST's...
