World War 2 Trivia (#21)
« on: March 15, 2004, 12:57:39 AM »
The famous Imperial Japanese Navy Ace, Warrant Officer Hiroyoshi Nishizawa (86 kills) was shot down and killed during the Invasion of the Phillippines 1944.

What type of aircraft was he flying at the time?

Extra Points if you can give me the pilot credited with the kill and his squadron.

GOOD LUCK!  :aok

He was not flying, he was a passenger in a Nakajima Ki.49 "Helen" going from Mabalacatto to Clark Field on Luzon wher ethey were to pick up some Zeros.

Nakajima Ki.49 "Helen" is correct.

Lt. j.g. Harold P. Newell of VF-14 was the pilot and squadron.

(You got the book too huh?)  ;)

CONGRATS! :aok

P.S. Thanks Widewing for the help.
