I believe this whole thread stems from the fact that a lot of people don't care to use the same politeness and consideration for others they might show when speaking to someone in person.
There is a trend among a lot of posters to hide behind the fact they cannot be seen or touched and get into a frame of mind that seems to escalate with each of their posts.
I have seen intense debates held online where personal attacks were not used. They were interesting and insightfull.
I think if we were to all post replys in the same manner we would actualy converse with someone face to face we could eliminate a lot of the hard feelings generated by thoughtless (as in unpolite) comments.
We all know this. Most of us are of adult age and most of us like the game we play and have some strong feelings about different aspects of it. It would be nice to see those "passions" tempered a bit to the point where real insights and knowledge could be gleaned from reading "Aces High General Discussions".
All it takes is a willingness to do so.
