tried everything up to and including basically exposing my pc to the net (dmz), using router forwarding, port triggering...

virus scanner is shut down.

i do, however, have a lot of iexplorer permissions set to prompt, such as run activex, etc etc.

the skins just aren't getting d/l.

this file seems to pop up every time i go online...

tmpp51d1.res.fth opened w/notepad shows the following:
skins/p51d1.res
1076434157
640111
646255
256
112061 a few mins later this line reads, 117153 - 5 mins later it's 129777

to me this implies the file is getting d/l'd but at a very very slow pace... ohhh sweet jeebus on a popsicile stick, at around 1-2megs d/l of the new skin file (just the file that was chnaged, right?) this is gonna take forever... and i'm on cable with a very decent d/l speed in general... wonder why it's gagging on me.

shane did u happen to D/L any earlier skins like from luculls webpage. just a thought but if we already have skins then perhaps HT's wont D/L cause mine aint werking neither

pick up p51d, 109g19 or 190d9 from hangar ;-) fly online on MA about 3-4 min on default skin chooice.
During flight of p51 you should recive host message "p51d.res has bean recived" (or something like that).
And now when you go to hangar and look at p51d skin selection , you should have custom skin to choose

it works for my 56k modem , should work for you too

no, i didn't. i did however, make 2 skin folders, but they seem to have went poofy. (i might have deleted them, tho' - can't recall.)

I have many custom skins in many directories. It doesn't seem to have an impact on downloading the new res files. The approved skins are downloaded into the AH2/skins/ folder, but they are not in a subdirectory. So, there should be no conflict.

I bet it's a firewall thingy, but .... HTC will sort it out soon I guess.

Do you have an antivirous program scanning your files as they come in ??? XP's Firewall perhaps ??? or one of its sp's??

or perhaps one of your ports is only set for outbound traffic and it blocks the skin files ??

perhaps you should have a heart to heart w/ Skuzzy about your configuration.(something isnt quite right )

Shane i have a question off topic a bit. I see you are using A linksys router. Are you stil using it? What model is it? And are you able to host H2H in Aces High?
