Skin Help, Resizing images without lossing quality
« on: March 28, 2004, 09:02:34 PM »
What's the trick? I use psp8. Is there some secret to resizing? I want to add a red star to VVS skin I am doing (AH1) for an event. I need to resize the star. When I do it looks like crap. Any help would be appreciated...

TIA

Yep Soulyss in PSP this possiblity to make vector layer.

Batz ,instead of resizing the star to fit the texture what about sizing-up the texture adding the star and finaly resize the whole bitmap ?

(dunno if it will work good)

Try this command line program:  http://mysite.freeserve.com/IL2_Skins/Guest/24_bit.zip

CitaFesterbria posted it a week or two ago.  It works pretty good!

Wotan, if you use white outline on star, forget about it
stars will turn in to crap
best way is oversize it a bit for better quality and resize before you flat layes.
Way around is scale bitmap by "scale function.
You need to create new image in correct size 256x256 RGB
create new layer, then drag and drop layer from your oversized file to 256x256 bitmap. Then go to functions edit/scale and using shift (or ctr. i not remember right now, or typing by hand on top bar, remember to mark proportional scaling on both axis)
Then flat image and convert to bmp (indexed)

Its should give you a bit better quality then just resize function in layers manu.
