Under fire from federal regulators, shock jock Howard Stern is negotiating with investors about launching his own radio business.

"According to sources, Stern is trying to drum up backing to start a pay-radio channel to broadcast his popular syndicated morning show, which on any given day has between 10 million and 15 million listeners," the New York Post reported today.

"Stern envisions purchasing spectrum from a satellite company and then airing his show to listeners who would pay a fee of $1 per month, sources said."

He still has two years left on his contract with Infinity Broadcasting but has said he fears the syndicator will fire him

Just a matter of figuring which network he may be on. I think if Stern goes on satelite, sales are going to go through the roof.

I wouldn't listen if he paid me 30 bucks an hour, but I think he should certainly try it.

Not worth a $1.00 a month to listen to Stern.

He was good 10 years ago.

We'll see how many think it's worth it. I'll bet he has a larger audience on pay statellite than he does now.

Could be. There is a large untapped audience out there that have never heard Stern and would spend $1 to get him on their new XM.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

I just this year got cable tv (and only because the discount on my internet bill was more than the monthly cable rate).

if it took me that long to pay for tv, I imagine it'll be a long damn time before I get to a place where I'd be willing to pay for radio.

and if I ever do get to that point you can bet I wont be paying so I can listen to that moron.
