With this ability to retain E even after continuous turns, why fly anything else?  I thought this monster was killed in WB 2.0 or so.

I've kilt em and I've kilt in em, and it just seems more like a jet than a prop fighter.  I know it was fast, good climber, good at high alt, but its gotta bleed E like the rest of the world.

I'm spittin in the wind here I think.

It does bleed E as I found out the hard way.

But you can go for awhile before you start getting sluggesh.

I noticed it retained E longer as well, but then I thought about what I was probably judging it against, the Spit V, which is a slower plane comparatively. Didn't get much chance to go against anything else 1v1, so I'm holding back my judgement. But it does seem to retain a lot of it! It also gains it back quickly, which is a definate plus! It also will hang on the props quite well, had it down to about 110 indicated before any hint of a stall. I'm sure it will be adjusted here soon, unfortunately!   I and others have also noticed it is weak in the rudder department. But I didn't lose my elevator once tonight in it!(unlike brand W where your garaunteed to lose it within seconds!) Just the left vertical stab and rudder a couple times, and I couldn't tell much difference in rudder response or the FM without it!? I'm sure we'll see some refining of the FM shortly. Other than that, I'm a happy camper, tis my favorite WWII a/c. Thanks HTC, fine job indeed.

You can Zoom this baby right into the stratosphere ...

I made a pass over F1 (5000ft) with WEP on and about 400 IAS then zoomed with 2.5G into the vertical. I could keep her vertical and under controll up to approx. 65-70 KIAS, then chopped throttle, ful rudder and a little aileron into the hammerhaed turn and she went straight around.. no stall no loss of controll .. top of Zoom climb: 11000ft (!!!)

As soon as people find out that you can zoom practically to ZERO Speed with this A/C when you chop throttles it will be the B&Z platform from hell.

P38 SHOULD zoom straight up to 0 indicated airspeed. At which point you should be able to kick rudder & flip to pointing straight down. (Hammerhead stall)
