Pfunk I hate to say this but if somethings gone stale its not the game.

I know a lot of what your talking about, but even when it was early beta & only 60 online guys still got gangbanged.

Take a break, quit flying the planes your flying. Try one that you never really cared for before.

Try a diff time of day, there is a reason I prefer to play weekday mornings.

In short, the games not going to revolve around you. I've seen festers map, its some sweet looking flying wrapped up in TONS of hard work. Give it a chance.

It takes time to learn how to do something other than furball on any new map.  Give it a chance.

Give yourself a new chance too.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Two seperate threads on Festers new map and only one person on either thread  doing any serious  footstamping about it so far.
Interesting.

Guess fester made a pretty good map

If you want a true WWII flight simulator you more or less have to have the ground action. After all in all wars its the ground thats important.

Look at the history or air warfare and you will see the reasons for using aircraft go something like this

1 country starts putting up planes to observe whats going on on the GROUND
Other side does the same thing and someone desides it would be greatr sport to take up handguns to observe whats going on on the GROUND and to shoot at the other country trying to observe whats going on on the GROUND.

Then someone thinks it would be a really neato and fun Idea to start dropping things onto the unsuspecting heads of  people on the GROUND.  First this was done by hand. Often using metal objects objects very similar to those cute little bomb shaped toys you played with as a kid where you placed caps on the front end and tossed them into tha air.
But just as often other small but heavy objects were used

Someone thinks to attach guns to the planes so they can look for and shoot at the people trying to drop things on the heads of people on the GROUND
they also discover this is a funfilled way of supporting their side on the GROUND by shooting the other sides people that are on the GROUND.

Next they started putting up planes to protect those planes that are trying to drop things on and shoot at people on the GROUND from  the people  that are in planes to try to stop the planes from dropping and shooting at the people on the GROUND.

NOW it gets  complicated.
Next they up planes to help out the guys that are taking planes up to shoot at the planes trying to have a funfilled day dropping things on and shooting people and things on the GROUND from the guys taking up planes to shoot at the guys who are shooting at the planes that are trying to shoot down the planes trying to have a funfilled day dropping things on and shooting at people and things on the GROUND.

Thus the first furball was born
And from that day to this its never changed

You see it revolves on whats going on on the ground
So if you want to have a true WWII Flight sim
You have to have actioon the ground.
To have action only in the air. would indeed make it "Gamey" And unrealistic.

I'd like to add that while HTC has been dedicating 95% of the time and effort to AH2, the ONLY additions and improvements have been Fester's maps. God knows how many hundreds of hours he's put into his two terrains, it's long, difficult and usually dull work. Yet, he does it for this community, all the while maintaining a busy schedule on his education.

Pfunk, rather than self-centered pissing and moaning, a simple "thank's Fester for your effort" would be appropriate, and then go log into the CT or just do something else until the map rotates out.

Now, who is going to organize the first Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor?

THE MAP IS TOO DAMNED BIG.  BIG MAPS ALLOW FOR ALL THE GIRLY STEAMROLLER HORDE GEEKS TO HIDE FROM FIGHTS.
ON THE SMALLER MAPS, THESE LIMPWRISTED TARDS ARE FORCED TO ACTUALLY FIGHT AND THE HORDES ARE MORE LIKELY TO RUN INTO EACH OTHER.  GET RID OF ALL THE BIG MAPS.

The map itself is beautiful... bigger is NOT better.

This map is the best map so far. There is something for everybody ... you just need to give it some more time.

Maybe it should be changed to

"The biggest fragfest, spawn camperific Quake with airplanes psuedo air combat GAME ever made"

Maybe... And this is just a maybe... Maybe you should just leave?

It seems to me like your hostile remarks are more based on the simple fact that you are upset because they put up festers map and people aren't doing what YOU want them to do...

If you dont like furballs, don't furball...

If they screw with your frame rate, DONT GO NEAR THEM.

If you dont like this game. DONT PLAY IT...

The remedy for your ailments are simple. You need to accept that and move on. Like myself and many others have told you before, you cannot expect to change or taylor people into to flying and doing what YOU want them to do.

Frankly, I love to furball every now and again. I do it because it makes people like you go CRAZY to see all this wasted "resource" being used up on furballing. Its also dam good fun, and good for SA mind you.

Why must you continue to infest others posts on somthing positve with complete negativity?

Is it because you feel the need to have obnoxious opinions heard?

We heard you in your own post on how Festers new map sucks. The one you got clubbed to death in...

Thank you Steve!
I just won $10 from my son on the over/under on how long it would take you to complain about it.

Now if you would kindly start a "festers new map sux" thread by Wed I get treated to a night at the movies on the double or nothing bet.:D

BTW its not a big map. Its bigger then the small maps and smaller then the big maps.

I see hoarding no matter what size map is on. And the only time hoards are ever stopped is when people get together in numbers to fight them.

Its not hard trick to  force the hoards to fight. Just gotta know  where they are going which is easy enough inasmuch as they practically telegraph where they are headed by the size and location of the darbar.
The real trick is in getting enough people to care enough to do something about them before they get to where they are going.

I was online on friday night, and the action on furball island in the centre of the map was some of the best fun I have had in 2 years of playing this game.

We had rooks, nits and bishs all together in a 10 mile x 10 mile area, all at 5k or less, with massive GV battles going on beneath us.

Fester awesome job!!!

It pains me to say it, and I had to swallow quite hard, but... erm... I agree with Slapshot. :lol:aok

It reminds me a little bit of the pizza map in the sense that the front line is spread out. I have flown only USN planes from carriers in my first session, and found that if one CV got sent down to DJ's locker, it wasn't hard to find another CV battle at embryonic stage. There are GV battles. The furballers have that area inside the compass rose. It sure beats the hell out of the small, furball maps.
