Frame Rate ? for Skuzzy et. all
« on: April 04, 2004, 03:57:23 AM »
This is a new problem.  While freshly logged in, sitting at a field doing nothing, I have decent FR (once it's adjusts after the 1st few seconds).  The longer I sit, the lower it gets.  It seem's to step down, and stays steady for a short lengths of time.

10/15min in tower     70fpm
15/20min in tower     50fpm
20/25min in tower     40fpm

Card is 64meg Gforce MMX (hey it works) w/ Det 30.82 drivers and I always flew w/ 60 FR cap in AH video options, 16bit, 800x600, and remained solid.  MABY in a big furball next to 2cv's it would dip into the 40's.  The 70fpm is with unlimited fps checked for my testing.  With the 60 cap it stays 60, then dips to 50.

My question is time.  Why is FR dropping the longer i'm logged in?  I've sat here for 2hrs loging in and out checking FR's.  Sitting in the tower doing nothing, my FR should stay the same.  The roster refreshing doesn't effect it, as my FR stays high after all pilots have updated to roster.  My net stats are flat.
I'm stumped.
I once had heat related issue w/ AH and old cpu that the fan had conked out on.  Longer I stayed logged in, hotter the cpu would get, and finally I would get booted out of AH.  Could it by Vid card temp geting hot?

Please any input.

Sounds like a memory leak or something throttling back due to temperature,

Memory leaks are not uncommon in Windows, but you may have something running in background chewing away faster than the normal Windows stuff does.
