Stick setup: MS Sidewinder Prec Pro
« on: October 01, 1999, 04:20:00 AM »
I am using above mentioned stick and would like to use the HAT as an 8 way. HT told me that this is currently not implemented yet.
Is there a way to map the "forward left" "forward right"..etc views to their appropriate HAT positions like in WB? The views themselves are there...u just need to combine the keypad view keys.

Any suggestions?

This can be done using the Microsoft-Profiler. V 3.02 is necessary, because it allows to configure coolie hat to numeric key pad keys.

it works fine for me.

Thanks Starky.  I was wondering how to do this.  BTW do you have a profile you could share?  --Check_JV44

The problem with these work arounds, is that you have to use a base button for key 5. onece a button is in use no other button can be used. So if you are in an up view you have no flaps or trim. If you get into a turn fight (god forbid)you are at a big disadvantage. The 8 way hat there doing next week will help with some of the problems , but not this one. A way to use the shift button to toggel stick set 2 is about the only answer. I really like my SW so if they make me choose, Ill have to move on to something else.
