Custom Sounds Patch ver. 1.1
« on: March 02, 2000, 12:33:00 AM »
I you wanna try it.  Tested on my machine but no others yet.

Rolls up some tweaks and improvements on the original custom sounds (gear, flaps, worked to improve 205, etc..) as well as making a fist pass at the 2 new planes.  Spit5 id pretty much just a copy of Spit9.  What is diff that would show up in the sounds?  Any ideas?

Its late.  I'm tired.  I'm going to bed.

enjoy,
Wab

Hi,

One thing I want to be changed in your custom  sounds, if possible that is, is stall sound. I found it to be horrible (had to go in sounds directory and put original AH sound as stall in each of planes). I liked the rest of the sounds though and sure will grab your new version when I get home.

Keep up the good work!

Mx22,

Yeah, no body likes my stall sound.    Originally I was going to have a slightly different stall horn for each plane but I'm not sure thats a good idea anymore.  You need to be able to recognize that stall horn instantly.  SO its prolly better to use just one.  You should just go and delete the stall sound in all the plane folders and it will default to the one in you base sounds dir.

Rip,

Yeah, I'll be up Fri.  We'll have to fire up RW and get some guys on there and wing.{S}.

Regards,
Wab

No way!! Keep the stall sound !
Much rather hear it than that jackhammer on a tin roof..or whatever the original one was.

 AKWabbit I think the stall sound is fine. I personally was just used to the old one and didn't want to retrain myself to hear the new one.
 It's the only sound of yours that I changed.

I have a stall sound that uses a female voice (stall...stall...stall...).  works great, makes it kind of futuristic, but no one can squeak about it sounding like a jackhammer on a tin roof!

AKWabbit;

I tried your sounds for the first time.  I really like them and wanted to thank you for posting them up for use. Many thanks! <S>

----------

Rendar;

Any chance you could send my your stall horn?  I would like to try that out.  I did hear "squeakin Betty" alot in F4, but it was always "Pull up! ..  Pull up!".

Thanks in advance!

Downloading...

While on the subject: how does one increase volume on one single file when the in-game possibility isnt enough.
Im having trouble hearing the flaps sound, and often loose track of the actual position.

Rgr Mino and Thx! ;=)
But...

Im an old man, cant hear birds sing or flaps wander.
The Setup option simply isnt enough for my liking.Alternativly I guess I could raise sound level generally on Win98 and then adjust (all) sounds from there.Just hoped there was a way to define that specific waw file..
