then I will start to respect them.

Whom do you respect?  You regularly bag on guys that fly the 51, furballers and their ilk, and anyone else that doesn't fly the way you do.
Do you respect anyone?  You seem to think you are somehow more noble because you fly an F4U.  You fly it like most people would fly an F4U, from an advantageous position...... in short, you BnZ.  Rather mundane as far as being noble...... not that I can find one style of play that is somehow on higher ground than any other.

You have again said flying a 51 is like clubbing seals.  Tell ya what, (horn tooting makes my skin crawl but here goes)  reach the same success in a pony as I do and then we'll talk about clubbing seals.  Don't give me some crap about how boring it would be, you've never done it... you have no idea.

Well, I've always been a "plane" guy in the plane vs pilot debate.  And the reason folks fly those planes is quite simply because they are better than the other planes.  Does that make it "wrong" to fly those planes?  Of course not.  But I have a lot more respect for someone who can mix it up in a P-47, or Ki-61, or 190, than I do for someone who is relying on the Spit or Nik to compensate for a lack of skill that could be rectified with a little effort.

All that said, I've got more respect for anyone who fights, in anything, than I do for anyone that flies in an extraordinarily timid way.

I don't even have a problem with "strat" guys, so much as I have a problem with "Strat" guys who suicide into fuel, or who get together in a humongous horde to milkrun some base, and rely on their numbers to dissuade anyone from picking a fight with them.

Oh and Steve...  I don't really include the P-51D in there with the rest.  I think it is popular because it has "name" recognition, not really because of its performance.  It does have good performance, but it isn't outstanding by any means.  Personally, I feel the G-10 and D-9 are better aircraft than the P-51D.

The Spitfire also sees a lot of use because of name recognition, but I'd wager there are a lot of folks that use it simply because it is the best plane at hand.  Likewise, the people who want to great performance but are afraid to fight usually fly the La-7.  You couldn't tell me (with a straight face anyway) that the La-7 and N1K2 are so popular in the MA because they are well-known WW2 airplanes that everybody hears about.  I'll buy that argument for the P-51D and the Spitfire... but not for the other two.

Didn't call you anything, just asked a question. You did answer it however, thanks.

PS... Don't matter who I am. I don't fly up there over 20k so you'll never run into me in the MA.

No turning, no twisting and no manipulation. The simple truth is that the furball fundamentalists often claim that they "don't have time" to fly the "vast distances" between fields on maps like pizza, and try to use that as a justification to have maps changed. I did not have to turn/twist/manipulate. That's what you do when you make those ridiculous claims about "not having time" etc. All I did was a simple check on your score, and found that you spend an average 3 to 4 hours every day in the MA, not including tower time. But as always, guys like you and Mars cannot bear to be confronted with the facts. You tried to play the "I haven't the time" card, and you got rumbled. Deal with it.

Incidentally, I flew from one airbase to another in a P47D25 on the pizza map, and it took about 6 minutes. So if folks were to fight between the bases instead of at the bases, each side would only have about 3 minutes to fly to the combat area. I don't think that's excessive at all.

Steve! Welcome to the flamefest! Urchin too! You guys are good, and Steve - a lot of my P51 bagging is not directed at you. Urchin is right, and many of the people choosing certain planes choose them because they are the best planes and/or the easiest in which to get results. So then yet more pilots will fly those same planes in order to compete with the first set of guys. I mean, what are you going to do? Go chasing after a P51 in a Hurri-1?

Yeah, I'll B&Z in a F4U. And I haven't seen any films to suggest there might be a better way to fly it.

Why must the "dweeb" moniker be attached to any plane ? Why must one's measure of manliness be attributed to what plane they fly ?

You have never seen me accuse anybody of being a "dweeb" for any reason and you never will. If I get shot down in my P-38, or any plane for that fact, is not because "he" flew a "dweeb" plane or one of Beet1e's uber trio ... it's because I screwed up ... simple as that.

There is a enormous amount of new players in this game, and if one could regress back to when they first started flying this game or any flight sim, they would probably realize that they too chose the EASIEST plane to fly that would get them some kills. It's only natural.

When I started, the first plane that I took was the P-51 (for the reasons that Urchin stated) and the outcome was miserable. Can you say ... stall ... flat-spin ... auger. So, I was told to jump into the Spit IX. Well now were talkin'. I could fly it without dieing before I reached a target. I learned alot flying this plane.

I got tired of the Spit, so I chose the La-7 mainly cause so many people were pissin' and moanin' about it so I had to see what it was all about. Well, we all know its strenghts, but not all know its weaknesses. This is not an easy plane to dogfight in, but its moniker is attained by those that choose the "one-pass-haul-butt" move, along with the fact that it can and does run down the majority of the planes available.

If and when you see an La-7 stick around and actually fight, you know you got someone behind the stick that can fight, and you will be in for a good fight. Again, I learned alot flying this plane.

Next was the Spit V. I chose this, cause it was the opposite of the La-7, this plane CANNOT run ... you are forced to fight. Granted, its a twisty-turny bugger, but that is what its strong points are, but it is a big fat target to any and all once the fight starts. Again, I learned alot flying this plane.

Now I am onto the P-38 and trying to learn how to correctly fly this monster. Yes its fast, yes it has a great gun loadout and centerline guns, but it too is a BIG fat target and when not flown correctly, you will not survive very long ... can u say compression.

In between these main rides, I flew a smattering of other planes mainly leaning towards US naval aircraft (FM2 : F6-F : F4-U) and learned alot flying these planes.

My point is not to give you a detailed history of my fight sim progression, but to point out that my progression is more than likely very similar to alot of the players that we have in the game today. There are alot of new players coming to this game everyday and they are climbing the progression latter, which more than likely puts them into the uber trio plane set. OH MY GOD !!!.

Also, the degrading smack talk that flows over ch 1 I believe forces people to be timid. All the crap such as ...

"1234563 you no skilled newb number guy ... you suk"

some newbie reads this crap and says to themselfs ... wow, I am not going to set myself up for that type of abuse. Once the tables turn on me, I am outta Dodge !!!

The response should have been ...

"1234563 you started your merge way too soon, next time wait until you are closer <>"

Bottom line to all of this ... so fediddlein' what !!! Quit worrying and crying about what the other guy flies. Get better at ACM when dealing with ANY plane or just quit.

Sorry .. I didn't realize that I wrote a wall-of-text ... :D

The fact of the matter here is, is that others really DO NOT have the time to do resuply runs ect ect ect...

Who in the hell are you to assume I have the time to fly the way YOU want me to fly? Go screw...

Many times I'll be in the MA but will be afk doing other things... And will only come to the computer when I get a few minutes for a fight... Others I'll be here from 6pm to 12 or 1am... Thats where the real fight time is... Funny how I never see your name in lights... Hmmm... Anyways...

I'll tell you what beetle... You want everyone to fly the way you fly... Tell us how you fly... You make yourself out to be such a "hero" and above everyone else who doesnt take to your pathedic ways of flying... The fact is there are a few sticks in the MA who I truley love and look forward to going 1v1 with and when I do end up on that rare occasion going 1v1  with these select few its a dam good fight... Your not one of them... *****footing around such as you do then flaming others in their styles of flying is down right absurd

Quote

This quote here pretty much sums up the type of lunatic we are dealing with here folks.

I'll be honest with you beetle... When I posted that what I meant was others..... OTHERS... You cant be that thick headed that you cant understand a simple sentence... Or can you?

I have alot of time many nights... I will roll goons if needed.. I'll roll bombers and go afk... Still... I want to know..
The many other nights I'll be off line doing the things that are most important in life... Being with REAL LIFE PEOPLE... You should try it beetle...

Check all the stats you want, it will never change the fact that you are a moron for thinking you can tell others how to fly and even more so for thinking you are anyone to judge others of how they do it...

Who do you think you are to judge others?

Answer that one question for me...
If you don't receive Jesus Christ, you don't receive the gift of righteousness.

Be A WARRIOR NOT A WORRIER!
