Hello all, just aquired my first set of rudder pedals last night and while experiencing the usual teething problems and generally making an fool of myself in the MA I think I'm gonna like them. My question is and I know a lot of this is personal preference. But any tips on settings the sliders in the joystick setup screen? I pretty much use the default settings for my joystick, with a slight increase in the deadband because it's starting to pick up some drift. Seems like the input on the pedals is kinda odd. At first slight inputs generate no response then as more pressure is applied you start seeing more drastic reponses from the rudder.

Part of it I'm sure is just a matter of gettings used to them but I thought and see if there was any advice that might smooth the transition a bit.

I use the default deadband/scaling settings.

My suggestion for getting used to them: practice a lot.

make sure you calibrate them in AH along with ur jstick

I found that the biggest benefit of switching to pedals was that I used rudder less, and when I did use it it was a conscious decision. With a twisty stick I had never noticed how often I was using rudder and bleeding E unknowingly.

The first few weeks you'll probably rarely use rudder in combat because it takes too much thought. After that it'll become second nature, but in my experience you'll probably use rudder a lot more sparingly... ie only when you need it.

i was flying off line with the ah2 beta recently but had not set up the pedals and stick yet. I was flying around trying to shoot the drones and was completely surprised how much i wanted to use my pedals as i set up. I find I don't lay on heavy, but I sure do alot of small inputs with them. Love them! I scaled mine so that the inputs start low, then work higher with more input. watch the input graph in the stick setup window, try to make it so your rudder doesnt jump sharply with just a bit of input. If you dont get them scaled smoothly you will find your rudder inputs causing fine control problems.
