Terror,

Thanks, I tried that one and have it running.  This pop up still won't go away.

Ok WARNING, Registry advice.......

run spybot advanced, go to the tools menu, check to see what is in the startup file, and check to see what is in the currently running proccesses.
Now open your browser and do a serch on every thing you dont reconigse that is currently runninghttp://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm is a good place to find losts of them....

then follow the directions for removing them.

rember back up your registry before you start and if possable set a restore point,  as this can trash your system if you make mistakes in the registry.

most of your problems are hiding in the software->windows->Run subkeys......

we had the same problem at work and it took me about 3 hours to kill all the offending start ups and hidden programs. also check the spelling of task names carefully as many popup programs try to hide them selvs as ligitimate tasks, suac as one calling it's self spoolvv,

Be carefull and do it one step at a time. AND BACK UP EVREY THING FIRST........

Hope this helps,
Gunns

I use EMS Free Surfer and haven't had a pop up in at least 18 months..

I also disable the Messenger service, and run a firewall.

I run ad-aware and spybot every few months or so

Free at last, free at last!  Thank God Allmighty, I am free at last!!!

Gunnss,
I run spybot all the time but have never poked around with the advanced features, and start-up.  The start up feature found 4 viruses.  Why the heck it couln't find them in a normal search is beyond me.

Thanks everyone for all of your help!

NP, I had basicly the same problem at work.... with the popups coming soo  fast that the box would lock up in about 20 mikes.

It had me pounding my head on the desk.........
