Voice comms

Please forgive this stupid question, but I am brand new to flight sims. I have heard voice comms mentioned, what is it? how do I get it?
It sure would help as it took me 5 min. to typ this post.

Shamus, voice comms are programs (typically third party) that allow pilots to literally talk to one another over the internet with a microphone, just like with a radio in real life.

The one I suggest, and one of the most popular is called "Roger Wilco".  You can find it at the link and it is free with registration.

Try it out, its very effective.

You need a decent microphone and a full duplex sound card.

It makes typing on the radio seem like senidng smoke signals to communicate..

Rgr That, one needs a good soundcard! My soundblaster Live Value works sweet.

Also, don't buy 15buck mike, wont work to good, I allready tried that route, LOL. I got a Labtec stereo headphones/mike combo rig. Works great! Costs like 50bucks, and the meatwater sounds for EAW are just to much over the headphones.

When ya get RW worken, don't use the voice activated feature, causes prob. Just use a keyboard command to send your messages. Simpler, more realistic, and works all the tine, hehe.
