UBB Y2K bug?
« on: December 31, 1999, 02:46:00 PM »
Have just been to AGW, HTC and iEN forums for the first time since New Year and I noticed all of them had lost their lightbulbs showing new posts in the various forums.

Resubmitting my preferences got them back.

G,

There's a known fault with cookies and Internet browsers for Y2k.  I'd look for the email but it's one of about 1500 in the last 6 months related to MS products and security problems.

You mean we were supposed to read those?

Thanks for the fix, Glars. I'll have to give it a try.

Actually that didn't appeared to fix it after all

I'm back to no lightbulbs regardless of numerous scrapping/resubmitting of cookies and am now having to memorise numbers of posts in each thread

Surely there must be some price to pay for crossing the line into the last year of the 20th century first . You kiwi buggers thought you had it made, didn't ya?

But seriously - I have noticed nothing of a sort on both boards... Bizzarre...

I run both Netscape 4.7 and I-Explorer 5..

Only Netscape does not show bulbs for new posts, and its the lastest version. No problem with I-Explorer at all..

Hate to admit it Typhoon, but your right.... I have ie2.0 and it works fine.. Might just be the way the ubb script is written? Oh well, back to pencil and paper for marking posts.

Ditto using both typhoon and I've swapped over to Bill's Browser for the boards.
