CH Products map loading
« on: March 18, 2004, 06:39:33 PM »
I've just bought the Pro Throttles, Pedals, and a Fighterstick setup and I'm having issues getting it to work.  I can get the items to calibrate and map fine inside of AH but I can't seem to get the map files from the manager to work.

I've clicked the "Clickstart enable" area under Program settings. I've loaded pre made maps from Revvin so it should work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay I've figured out how to load these but heres the next problem.  Everything else seems to work fine but when I hit my primary trigger it zooms slightly then all my controls are fubar.  I go back to my game controllers and it shows up as CH Control Device Manager 1 and 2.  Anyone understand whats going on here?

It should list

CH Control Manager Device 1
CH Control Manager Device 2
CH Control Manager Device 3

This should also be the same listing in AH when you have mapped mode enabled, rather than direct mode. I'm not sure if the mode has changed (check mode button) or if the map itself is the problem tho. If you can, post your map..

Yeah, if your going direct and using AH to map the buttons it will list the actual device, if you are using CH manager to map the buttons (as I do) it should show "CH device #x". It sounds like your device is being changed from direct to CH mapped (or mapped to direct) while you are in the AH FE. One of the functions of the CH software is you can switch between mapped and direct with buttons on the stick (I dont use that function so I dont know how AH would handle that), it sounds like this is whats happening. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies guys.  The map I was using is Revvins off of the CH-hangar web site.  I downloaded the CMC file and the Map file.  The only thing I can think is it's how he set it up.  I got so frustrated with it last night I just cleared out his map and directly mapped them in AH.  It works fine that way but I'm not sure why it would do the whole switch thing.

Plus I've found once it switches you can't calibrate the components in the manager program is this normal?  I might try to mess with it a bit more to see whats up.  I'd like to use the control manager but we'll see how things go.

Ok first,
Revvins Map.  You must first put it in the CM profile folder then Load it into the CM.......THEN DOWNLOAD it!  The download button is on top and doesn't highlight until a new map is loaded.

Next,
Revvin's Profile is based on the CH controllers loaded Fighterstick device 1, throttle device 2, and pedals device 3 into a combined,  Aux Device 1

Then,
Drag a shortcut to cmstart.exe into your Start, Programs, Startup folder.  This starts you in mapped mode vs Direct mode or Off mode when you boot.

Generally,
I see NO reason to use the CM Control to do anything but make sure the Controllers are in the correct order.  Combining all controllers into one "Aux Device 1" leaves the POV on the throttle unusable as a POV?  I use the CM to setup the Controllers then go into AH and map-the-crap outta the buttons, POV's and Axis.  Save the settings folder incase you need to reinstall.  4 sticksets in AH are all I need.

Regards,
