That is true (first graf)

Im not against tax credits to benefit people with kids.  Maybe Im biased because i have a couple.

I dont mind paying my fair share of taxes.  I think it is patriotic to do so.  But I demand that the system be fair.  People who are just getting by could use a tax break, sure.  BUt lowering their federal income tax isnt enough, because the other payroll taxes make up a bigger portion anyway.

And a guy making a half mil a year is not going to "need" an extra 30k.  That money would be better used building a highway, a school, buying part of an F-18, or making it so the guy who is just getting by can pay no tax at all.  The Common Good.

This is the greatest country in the world, no doubt, and the folks who are rich need to remember that when it comes time to pay the tax man.   Paying taxes is our duty, and as Will Rogers said - just thank God you arent getting all the government you pay for

year, right, common good. Funny definition of common you have here. One dude pays nothing, the other one pays for both of them, all this for "common" good. That's rich.  Common to whom?

What happened to property rights?

Nothing happened to property rights.  You just have no idea what they are, obviously.

Nothing else in your post merits any response

He may not "need" that 30K, but the economy does.  Forcing him to send it to the Feds is just like burning it.  His money can create jobs, so long as the Feds don't spend it for him.

except that you see no problem in taking someone's property and giving it to someone else.

Other than that property rights are intact of course.

is your labor and productivity and the resulting income your property, or do they belong to the government?

strk... I believe people with children should get and even bigger tax break too but...

give me a list of all the things we spend money on and I will cross out at least half of em..   I will pay my fair share too but it should be about a third or less of what it is now..

As for roads.... we spend 34 cents or so per gallon on tax for "roads"  if we actually hired someone and payed em half that we would be able to redo every road in America in a couple af years... Schools?  are you kidding?   Vouchers would cost half as much and give twice the education for the buck.

Name one thing the government does efficiently besides create waste?   We need a central government for the protection of the country and constitution.   We do not need to redistribute the wealth.   For instance... you may get a "child" tax credit but people who have never made a cent get "tax credits" every year... this is plain theft... the government is taking my, and your tax money and giving it away to people because they make less than we do..

I am all for charity... I probly give a couple of percent of my pay to charity every year.. I pick ones like salvation army that have allmost no waste and ignore ones like the red cross and such that are about 70% waste or more.

It's always much easier to get indignant rather then defend questionable views, when someone challanges them.
