RPM stuck at minimum
« on: April 23, 2004, 06:09:00 PM »
I have just developed a fault I have not seen before. No doubt a corrupted file somewhere.

My fighetr rpm is stuck around 1000 / 1200 depending on plane. Happens in MA, training, CT (haven't checked the others or Buffs). Doesn't happen in AH2.

rpm increases ok to around 3000ish with WEP although + / - don't change it (I wouldn't expect it to with WEP).

Keyboard mapping is correct (KPad + and -) but they have no effect.

Is this a known problem with a solution (file fix?). I don't really want to uninstall and re-install the entire shebang.

klem, rename the "settings" folder to another name, then restart Aces High.  It will act like a new installation, but you can copy files from the old settings folder into the new one.

just for the record, I did that and copied the entire settings folder back. Duh. Same result, as you might expect.

Did it again and copied files across in blocks, taking care over .kmp's and .cfg's one at a time, checking each time, until the only files not copied were the .pwl files whatever they are. Problem solved. I expected problems from some core .cfg and .kmp files but did not get any.
