the f4f-3 ... it performed allmost identical to the FM2 with maybe a few mph better speed and a tiny bit better climb but... close enough.. it was 4 gun and had little armor... simply lower the damage model on the FM2.  

Would really add a lot to the CT for instance.

why bother when it sounds exactly the same as a fm2 anyway?

would be great for early war in the CT.   It is not so armored so it would probly get used by the guys who make up the CT..  I never see them substitute the FM2 for the -3 even tho the -3 performs a little better.
