Nighttime: The time is NOW
« on: December 28, 2000, 02:40:00 PM »
With the increased gunnery and awesome firepower of 1.05, restoring nighttime would be an incredible visual rush....the horizon lighting up with heavy guns bombarding the shoreline, etc.
Remember the old Victory at Sea films?
The seige of Berlin?
There is a much broader user base now in 1.05 with the fleet, the PT boats, the armour, etc.
It is time to restore night....if only for a few minutes per cycle.

i will say this, it is entirely possible to actually slip out of fight unscaved in the dark twilite, or as I managed this morning, slip my C-47 out of enemy airspace with enemy fighters near. Was very tense!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!    I have loved the night in AH, and will always support it's renewal.  According to the Discovery Channel, the F4U was mainy a night fighter. (I think)  Regardless, night in AH is cooler than any other SIM out there, and yes....the viz effects of ACK bursts under a cloudy sky.....<orgasmic shudder>....<lights up a smoke>  Night Honey...

LOL K-Ken...
I ALMOST agree with ya totally..

Would dearly LUV to make a nightime PT boat raid, (more raids run at night than daytime historically)
then we should also have Destroyer searchlights, AAA searchlights...

needs to be longer than before though, like 1/2 hour minimum.

yeah thinking about it, it would be orgasmic.......

where's my pipe?

I would love to see night time back. However, I tried a night time trap last night. It was ugly..hehe. If anything, they should at least lengthen the twilight (please..as suggested by, I think Ripsnort).
Would love to have the night back though

No night please. once the novelty wears off night for me is log off time.

Instead of shooting after planes, you're shooting after icons. Boring and total loss of immersion.

Dusk/dawn is different though.

Yes, definitely bring back the night, and for 30 minutes please.  We can play with different light settings to get a reasonable compromise between light levels and playability.  Then we can add carrier landing lights, which you can request be turned on by the TG commander  .  Love the search light idea as well.

I agree, bring on nighttime, after all they did have it in WWII, didn't they ?

The sight of Flak bursts in the night would be cool, around my Lancaster

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.
