You mean the install on disk 2 locks up halfway through, or it says "disk 2 not found" or something like that when you try to run it?

I had this problem:

http://www.61shap.org/    (About halfway down)

Basically, my disk didn't install a language registry value.  I had to go into the registry and add one.

Murdock has a post about it in this thread (his last post, just above the hot chick pic):

ed: Just remembered this came up when I was installing AEP, not FB.  Hope this helps anyway.

Pooh;

Here is what I posted over on the community help board at il2's website.

Well after running into the dreaded CDRW installation problem I finally found out how to work around it TODAY! All this after upgrading back in September and having played and installed IL-2:FB on this same CDRW then. The biggest difference between the last system and this one is the motherboard and CPU. I went from an AMD T-bird 1.4 on an ASUS A7V266 to an AMD 2500XP on a Gigabyte GA7N400 Pro.

Today as I was cruising the Tech board here I noticed a sticky titled "User Fixes that may help others".

In this topic there were a couple of things. I first tried to install after changing the IDE driver and that didn't work for me.

Then I installed the newest nVidia driver set 3.13 and that may have helped the next step. I say may have helped because I didn't reboot right after installing it.

It also mentions that holding the left shift key while inserting CD #2 may possibly work around allowing you to install the remaining files without problems...Well it works for me. After installing the game I went and started it up and got right into the menu without any trouble.

Thanks to B16Enk for his help last fall in trying to get me worked around the problem installation. Thanks for all the other guys posting there solutions here for chumps like me to see and use.

I hope this helps you out when you try to reinstall the game.
