Yes, all hosted by a single T1 and I'm getting terrible lag/warp like never before.

Its time for HTC to upgrade their server connex.

Not to mention the HTC site is slow as hell.

WOW.

I hope that HTC gets a bunch of new subscribers with this version and can up the server capacity.  I like having more players.

Yep, this latest gang-wang is both a good thing and a bad one...

Good, 'cause more customers = more bucks for HTC, and possibly lower costs per paying player...

Bad, 'cause I (a loyal/paying member of AH's undeniably high class clientel)(even if we can't spell very well!!...we still got class   )...I can't play 'cause it's full up...

Well, maybe when all the freebe two weekers have to pay-up things will settle down a bit around here...     (frankly, i'm hopeing that HTC gets so many new paying types, that we can have multiple MA's going...that could be a very good thing...maybe two different Arenas with two different TIME FRAMES..(1939-1943) and (1943-1945)!!!!!

Think of all the possibilities...

There are high numbers right now, but consider how many of them are new names. Probably a lot of them are on the 2 week trial because of the 1.05 release. Wait 2 weeks and see how the numbers are. Don't forget, there were a bunch of (other) sim players waiting around for a game to play.

Actually, there are 2 T1's.  The alt connect to the main arena is hardly used and it is its own T1.
Give it a shot when the arena gets this full guys.

Really?

I would suggest that HTC change the login code to pass your connection off to one or the other T1 to keep the bandwidth load balenced.  The server can keep track of how many connects are on each line, while I have no idea as a customer logging in.

I have not noticed any lag, not even when there was 246 online.
I has gotten a couple of discos though (4 or 5 in 3 days).

I am in Norway on a single ISDN line.

I agree with AKWabbit, either give us automatic the best connection, or let us see witch line that has the lowest ping/loss.

I predict that in one year we will see 350+ in the MA. Then we will see multiple arenas like so many want

I just want one LARGE arena, not several small ones.
I like the feeling of just having one arena to log on to, and then meet all the friends I has made online, not the feeling of not knowing anyone, or just 2 or 3 persons while the other 50 I know is scattered over 50 different servers/arenas.

But that is just my opinion.

$0.02,
Wab

Actually Wabbit, we have already discussed a couple of different ways to deal with this.  We knew it would be an issue someday.
There are inherent problems with automatic load balancing.  It is quite possible to get a better connect through a more crowded connection.  Connections are made up of many components (i.e. # of hops, how busy are those other hops?).
Using automatic balancing based on the bandwidth may improve or make worse a connection.
Riht now you have a chioce, although it is not immediately clear as the alt connection is always marked "Closed".  New players are not going to know that it realy is not closed.

But, fear not, it will get resolved.
