it astounds me how many people I know who don't vote.  they complain that gov't doesn't do what they want but when given a chance to state their opinion they stay home and cry.

Ok, I see where I was mistaken. I was under the impression that as a U.S. citizen I "deserved" a government that was honest and put my needs before their pockebook regardless of who was in office. :p

I like to interact with people who are educated... like say on this bb.   A few are pretty sharp... most are about average with predictable viewpoints and skills and some are far below average clones.

As for Bush... He really doesn't seem like an English major.  Still.... all the people that seem to know him and be around him say that he is honest and really sharp... By contrast... so far... all the people that are around kerry claim that he is at best an arrogant a hole and at worst that and shifty.   Pretty much the normal democrat nominee for high office.

We're not talking about speaking ability.  We're talking about the ability to think.

I suspect Kerry is arrogant ... don't really know or care.  I know Bush is dumb and here's a boat load of people who share this opinion.

The Toronto Star!!!! of course!!!!

I didn't even bother to read the article.

Look at the facts.

The man is successful.  success is armor plated.  the minute anyone sets a goal to accomplish something worthwhile unseen forces in the cosmos align themselves in opposition.

In order to succeed you need to be:

persistent

intelligent

resourceful

resiliant

flexible

self motivated

honest

willing put in the hours

Anyone who has obtained any modicum of success will acknowledge the above to be true.

This man, Mr. Bush embodies these qualities, perhaps Mr. Kerry does as well, however I believe not.  his record woul indicate that he doesn't.

Irrespective of party ideology don't you really want a proven, successful leader at the helm of your nation?  The Dems have never produced such a candidate in Lord knows how long.  maybe Jimmy Carter had these qualities.

That's easy.  The crooked politician.  None of the rest really exist.
